Goldsmiths, University of London selects Switch to drive their students experience with VoIP

Goldsmiths, University of London, one of the five largest employers in the London Borough of Lewisham and higher education institution to 6,400 students with various backgrounds, recently selected Switch Communications to support its collaborative and interdisciplinary approach to working with a new VoIP system.

The winning solution is based on Alcatel-Lucent’s OmniPBX Enterprise with Voice Network Management OmniVista 4760, connecting 200 users in the Goldsmiths’ newly erected academic building. VoIP together with Unified Communications is most likely to be expanded within the rest of campus to approximately 3,000 users.

“During the tender process, running under the Public Services National Procurement ‘Buying Solutions’ Framework, Switch Communications demonstrated the high level of their expertise by proposing a solution, which addressed all our requirements enabling us to deliver excellence of teaching and student experience not only today but also in the future,” stated Susan Carran, Goldsmiths’ Interim Head of Procurement..
